Our team all work in the NHS, as well as providing a private service. We are continuing with both sides of our work, as now more than ever, our patients need us.
In order to continue to see patients privately and get them the quick care they need, we offer video appointments through Top Doctors or Google Meet. This ensures that patients will get the advice they need, without having to leave their home. Furthermore, this enables us to see patients from a wider area, so whether they are in London, the Midlands or even the North of England, we can still help.
While a video consultation may feel very different to a face to face appointment, it is exactly the same just without any physical examination, which often isn’t even needed. We will still go through a patient’s medical history, ask the same questions about symptoms and listen to any concerns or worries they may have.
It may feel a bit odd or different, so to help patients think about what they can do to prepare, they can follow the steps below. This may help them to really see this just like a normal appointment with a doctor!
We would urge everyone to remember that while the Government has said that people should avoid leaving their homes, there are exceptions and one is seeking the medical help they need. Trying to avoid the potential risk of COVID-19 should not be at the expense of a person’s current health. So no matter what, do not put off seeing a doctor, whether it is virtually or face to face.
Find a private space
Try to find a place (if you can) in your home where you won't be distracted or overheard so you feel fully able to share any details in confidence.
Be prepared
If you need glasses or a hearing aid, ensure you have these so you are able to fully engage in the appointment.
Know your medicines
It is always important to share all medicines you are taking so either have these to hand or write down their names.
Stay connected
We appreciate not everyone has a fibre connection, but try to ensure your signal is stable to avoid interruptions in the appointment.
